Members of our staff have been working with tortoises in captivity and in the wild for over 45 years. We feed a variety of fresh green leafy vegetable, premium tortoise pellets dusted with calcium for strong shells and bones, along with any grass that they may graze on in the wild. We do not offer water in the habitats where we house our smaller tortoises. Our baby tortoises are soaked for 15 to 20 minutes in a small bowl of room temperature water, three times per week. Offering water outside the habitat will allow the baby tortoise to drink all of the water it needs, without any fear of accidental drowning. Drowning is a leading cause of death in newborn tortoises. Our juvenile and adult tortoises have fresh clean water offered to them at all times. All of our tortoises are shipped anywhere in the United States using Ups Air Services.
